Ten years ago ELIOS producers decided
to proceed into the cultivation of peaches and nectarines.
The choice for this kind of fruit was to cultivate very-early
varieties. The microclimate of the area makes the cultivation of very-early
varieties unique and suitable.
Consequently, growing peaches and nectarines reached
an area of approximately 8 hectares and is estimated that it will come to full
fruition in 2016, with a production volume that will be approximately 250-300
tons.
Harvesting normally starts the
first week of May for peaches and nectarines, and finishes at the end of the
same month.
